She raised her voice.

And made herself heard: loud and clear. She was unafraid, unapologetic, happy in her own skin and not scared to be seen for who she really was.

And she ruffled a lot of feathers along the way.

We all know the feeling: You’re psyched out of your mind in your brand new pointy stilettos and that red hot body hugging dress, feeling like a goddess, loving every inch of yourself, when your friend takes one look at you and asks point-blank: “you're not going out like that, right?”.

It only takes that one little sentence to bring down the house.

Or any version of that - snarky passive aggressive comments are all the same. All of a sudden you’re questioning yourself and your own self worth. Feeling like a loser, you decide to tone it down a notch. To hold back. To get quiet.

But what is it that makes us hate ourselves and each other?

Why are we buying into the misunderstanding that we’re not good enough, or that we’re too much?

You see, not everyone is ready to handle other people’s happiness. They have their own issues. So instead of rising up, they bring everybody down to their level. It’s easier and safe... also coward and hurtful.

But the truth is: There’s beauty everywhere. And there are no restrictions or constraints.

You are beautiful.

You are worthy of love.

You are enough just the way you are.

Stand up tall and take up space. You have a voice and we need to hear it.

Because when you raise your voice? We all stop and listen.

what we don't tell each other and the things we should definitely stop telling
